Audience
Open to all individuals of all abilities. Course is designed to provide basic lay-rescuer training for community and home emergencies. If participants wish to use these skills in the workplace, participants are required to register for a WorkSafeBC approved course, or its equivalent.

- Airway Emergencies – Choking (adult/child/infant)
- Includes:
- Responsive Partial Airway Choking (adult/child/infant)
- Responsive Full Airway Choking (adult/child/infant)
- Unresponsive Choking (adult/child/infant)
- Includes:
- Circulation Emergencies
- Includes:
- Heart Attack
- Stroke
- Includes:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – CPR (adult/child/infant)
- Includes:
- Compression-Only CPR
- Traditional CPR with Barrier Device
- Two-Person CPR
- Includes:
- Using an Automated External Defibrillator (adult/child/infant)

- Deployment
- Precautions
- Workplace/Public Use

Timeline
Average course length is 4 hours, but may go longer in order to confirm knowledge and skills.
Completion Criteria
Candidates will be required to demonstrate all required skills and complete a multiple choice exam in order to be granted a certification.
