General Information

This course is a blended (1/2 online – 1/2 in-person)ย  program. Students will receive training with a highly trained and certified Red Cross First Aid Instructor.

Learn how to respond confidently in an emergency with our comprehensive blended (14-hour minimum) First Aid, CPR, and AED course for adults, children, and infants. Whether you need certification for work or simply want to be prepared to help family, friends, or coworkers, this course is a great fit.

Youโ€™ll learn the latest first aid and CPR techniques while meeting Federal or Provincial workplace first aid requirements. The course also follows the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Standard Z1210 for Intermediate First Aid training. Gain practical skills, build confidence, and be ready to make a difference when it matters most.


Prerequisites

All individuals are welcome to register for this course. No prior experience or training is required.


Audience

All are welcome to enter this course. Ideal for individuals who want a broader understanding of various first aid topics, beyond that of Emergency or Basic First Aid. This is a blended course, therefor half (8-hours) will be online study before your in-person (8-hour) session. It is ideal for home, community, and workplace first aiders.

Note: Although all topics below will be covered in class, many of the discussion topics will only be briefly discussed to confirm understanding and answer any questions. It is expected all blended learning students arrive having already completed the online component of the program. Students who have not completed the online portion of this course will be unable to proceed to the in-class session.

Timeline

Students are required to complete the online component of their course prior to attending the in-person session. Typically this will take apx. 4-8 hours of study.

Average in-person course length is 6 hours for Emergency First Aid students and 8 hours for Standard First Aid students.


Completion Criteria

Candidates will be required to demonstrate all required skills and complete a multiple choice exam in order to be granted a certification. All candidates will be required to attend and complete both days of this program.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this fun and interactive course students will complete a written multiple choice exam. Candidates will then receive a Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate. The certificate is valid for 3 years.
