Frequently Asked Questions

What is CPR C?

CPR C is a comprehensive CPR certification course that teaches participants how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. The course also includes Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.

What is the difference between CPR A and CPR C?

CPR A focuses on adult CPR and choking emergencies only. CPR C includes adult, child, and infant CPR, making it a more comprehensive certification that is often required for childcare providers, teachers, healthcare workers, fitness professionals, and many workplace positions.

Does CPR C include AED training?

Yes. CPR C includes training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Participants learn how to safely and effectively use an AED alongside CPR to improve the chances of survival during a cardiac arrest.

Does CPR C meet workplace requirements?

Many employers accept CPR C certification to meet workplace CPR requirements. However, some positions may require additional first aid training such as Emergency First Aid or Standard First Aid. Always confirm your employer’s requirements before registering.

Is CPR C required for childcare workers?

Many childcare organizations, schools, and childcare licensing bodies require CPR certification that includes child and infant CPR. CPR C is often the preferred certification because it covers all age groups.

Do I need CPR C or Standard First Aid?

CPR C focuses specifically on CPR, AED use, and choking emergencies. Standard First Aid includes CPR C plus additional training in injury management, medical emergencies, wound care, environmental emergencies, and patient assessment. If your employer requires a full first aid certification, Standard First Aid may be the better option.
